Why do I blog?

Durgesh Nandhini

Welcome all, as this is my first blog post, I would like to tell you a brief on what you can expect and answers all the why’s and what’s about the blog.

Why do I write?

I write, as it’s an off-line record of all my thoughts and dreams. It helps me align myself when I go off the track and gives me immense clarity on my vision. There is nothing more liberating, than writing to me.

I often ask a lot of questions to my Grandparents and Parents, on how were their experiences in different situations. How was it when you first travelled alone? When you first earned and managed your own finances? What are the lifestyle changes that you like and dislike? What would have you done if you were born in this generation? and on and on….

They do tell me everything they remember, but not the exact pinpoints and not with the same pulse. I love hearing such stories. So I decided when my kids ask me such stories, I want to tell them in a way that makes them feel they are travelling with me. Hence, I started writing.

I write my dreams, experiences, plans and agenda every day. I am awestruck to look back and see that I have designed my own life. Because all that I wrote is what has happened in reality.

‘We are, what we dream’

Why do I blog?

My dad often says, ‘When you share 5 things to others, you will get to know 10 things from them’. Hence I share my little knowledge, to get to know more, from all of you. Blogging is a platform for me to learn and meet a lot of people.  I am a very curious person by nature, love to learn and never scared to experiment.

When I speak out my resolutions, principles and ideas to others, I am more aware of my actions. My thought process goes deep and wide in all angles, ethical, sustainable, social, and economical.

What is the blog about?

There are a lot of things, that inspire me. At present, my area of interest lies in Organized Living, Urban Minimalism, Plastic Free Living and Zero Waste. I am not an expert in these topics, but an individual striving to achieve these goals. So this blog is a record of my journey, to stay focused on my mission and to inspire many like-minded souls.

How have I planned to blog?

It’s been almost 6 years since I am married. The Organised Living is the first concept I developed after marriage and then Minimalism. Later Plastic-Free Living and Zero Waste. So, I shall first start to write my organisation experiments. Why I did it ? How did I do it ? What I do now differently after acquiring minimalism.

Hope you can catch up my journey as I rewind back through 5.10 years. My Instagram posts will be on the present day musings and thoughts. When I am day dreaming, you can see me actively pinning my inspirations on Pinterest. I have scheduled to post every Tuesday 12 pm.

Why this name?

Why did I choose to name my blog www.durgeshnandhini.com rather than, any other tag name that represents my areas of interest ?

We are travel-educating our daughter. This decision has made me meet lots and lots of inspiring people, who have instilled great thoughts and  helped channelize my dreams into a whole new arena. There is a lot of positivity, learning and magic happening around me.

Experiencing a breath of fresh air every moment and enjoying its beauty as it swishes around. So I didn’t want to constrain myself to a tagline. You can also see me write about books, movies, relationships, parenting etc.,

Moreover, I haven’t met or heard off any other Durgesh Nandhini in my life. So, I decided to indulge in its uniqueness.

Hope I have answered all the why’s and what’s about the blog. Stay in touch, see you next week.

    Dear Nandhini,

Liked your note on “Organised-Living” which I’ve been practicing since the late 90’s. It certainly has helped me a lot.
Also, Plastic-free living excites me. Let me know how you progress on this concept – I’d be happy to experiment as well. With me shortly re-locating to Cochin, I’ll be going through a lot of this – Plastic-free – as in Kerala it is very much prohibited and waste management is a challenge there.

    Keep sharing & blogging!
    Best wishes 🙂

    Hello Nandhu,
Congratulations on your new blog. I really like the flow of the introduction and the way you presented yourself and the reason behind this new endeavor. I too have have not come across another Durgesh Nandhini so far in my life :). I can really attest your father’s preaching about sharing and giving as someone that has personally experienced it. Also knowing your wonderful grandparents and parents, I know you have so many good things about life to share with us all. We all wish you good luck and looking forward for your future posts. I know you will come up with engaging content and since you have a professional photographer handy :), it will be sprinkled with wonderful pictures to enhance your storytelling.

I got to know about your blog from my friend uma in kct. Some of my views are very similar to you. Especially minimalism and plastic free environment. I feel like writing a bit more but I’m not very good at writing. So just came to say your blog is beautiful as you. You are a person who cares for future. So nice meeting you and expecting more from you

    1. durgeshnandhini says: Reply

Hi Nicy, thank so much for your appreciations. I do understand, writing is an art but you will get good at it, only when you start writing more. More than the grammar I personally feel the content is the most integral part. Start today. Do let me know about your writing. All the very best.
