Ar. Jayashree Raman

Jayashree Raman is an architect dedicated to better design using minimum resources. Having grown up and worked in the metro cities, she moved to Coimbatore for a better work-life balance. She is the co-founder at Studio 29 and has been actively involved in academics, guiding students of Architecture and Interior design. Coaching interns to realize their full potential, is something she finds fulfilling.

Ar. Udhaya Vauhini

After graduating from architecture school, Udhaya found her interest in curational work, research and graphic design. She is the co-founder at CULA design collaborative and heads the graphic design team. It started with making maps and has lead to the design of ecological calendars, infographics, brand stories, customized wall art, etc. Her fascination for cities lead her to collaborate with researchers, local historians and organizations to pursue her interest in understanding and mapping the local history of Coimbatore and visualizing it.

Architecture as a discipline surrounds us in our everyday life and there has been an increasing interest in understanding the process that leads to the design of spaces. In this series of workshops the children will be guided to sharpen their problem solving skills, discover their aesthetic sense and develop their spatial awareness. They will be introduced to the basics of architecture through a series of hands-on fun activities, discussions and field visits by four architects with expertise in different topics. Topics covered will include principles of design, anthropometry, architectural representation, history of architecture, learning from nature, understanding structures and sustainability.
